In our pursuit to mimic film as closely as possible, we ended up developing a concrete pipeline that allows for the layering of different aspects of modern creative look building for feature films. Our goal for this pipeline was to enable non-destructive adjustments, providing the ability to craft complex and nuanced looks—all while challenging the native controls and underlying mathematics of Davinci Resolve. To creatively (and accurately) mimic Vision 500T + 2383(D65) & Vision 500T + 3513(D65) least destructively. Design the Film Color Space within a widely accepted Scene Referred Color Space – DWG in our case Keep it simple: Couple it up with handles/controls that feel intuitive and natural to map the look to different master shots. This is done using creative coding, some handles are unique/custom-made in functionality. Being able to switch between scene-referred “Vision 500T Only” / “Vision 500T + 2383(D65)” / “Vision 500T + 3513(D65)” modes.
