The original idea was quite simple: FilmVerse, a film emulation plugin designed to mimic the best characteristics of Kodak’s Vision3 film series – one of the most common Hollywood films.
But we knew we weren’t going to develop yet another film emulation plugin in a sea of plugins. Everyone wants to emulate film.
In an effort to emulate film as closely as possible, we ended up developing a specific pipeline that allows for the layering of various aspects of today’s creative approach to feature film looks. Our goal was to provide non-destructive adjustments, while allowing for complex and nuanced images – while challenging Davinci Resolve’s native controls and underlying math.
